Festival season!

So its festival season coming up and if you haven't already bought tickets I thought id give you a hand by mentioning my favourite festivals, this is part 1.

Liverpool Sound City - 28th & 29th May 2016
I attended last years Liverpool Sound City and was actually amazed by the line up for such a cheap price. Last year they had 3 days of festival but have changed it to 2 days now which I don't think will affect it in anyway. The line up this year is even better than last year with Circa Waves and Blossoms returning and new to the line up, Catfish and the bottlemen, The Coral and Pete Doherty to name a few. Even if these guys aren't your cup of tea there are plenty of tents full of upcoming bands, artists and Djs which I found the most enjoyable last year. The location of this festival is on Bramley Moore docks which is a short walk from Liverpool City Centre. You can't beat the Liverpool atmosphere!!
Be sure to check out JUDAS and Hein Cooper who played last year and also KYKO who is making a Liverpool Sound City debut.
Dot 2 Dot Festival - 27th, 28th & 29th May 2016 (different locations)
With a main line up which features Mystery Jets, Augustines, Temper Trap, Sundara Karma and many more. Then a line up for local acts which include Delamere and GIRLFRIEND in Manchester.
New Carnival and Rozelle in Bristol and Crosa Rosa, Same Streets and Georgie in Nottingham. There is literally a sound to suit everyone. Whats more it helps you to discover new venues around the cities you love with different bands and artists playing throughout the city. You are given a map with your ticket usually directing you to the different venues with the set times. I found this to be really exciting like a mini treasure hunt for music. Some of the venues are insanely cool with Manchester cathedral being used last year for the likes of Hudson Taylor, huge open spaces and then the next venue you pop to being small and underground. Sundara Karma is definitely one not to miss along with Blaenavon and of course The Japanese House who supported The 1975 on their UK tour this year.

Barn On The Farm - 1st - 3rd July 2016
Most festivals feel like you are on a farm anyway but this one actually is. Barn On The Farm is set on a farm in Gloucestershire. This is a pretty intimate festival where you'll probably be walking past a few of the artists playing and may even stop for a chat. With the likes of Hudson Taylor, Amber Run and Nina Nesbitt. More like a small friendly short term community rather than a festival. This is perfect if like me you want to hear new artists and perhaps this could be your first festival which is perfect due to the size although I can probably promise you'll get the festival bug after it! Check out the amazing Jack Garratt, Fickle friends, Hidden Charms and Farm Band a mega band consisting of Barn on The Farm favourites, Gabrielle Aplin, Hudson Taylor, Joe Keogh from Amber Run & Hannah Grace!
