Little Sea Interview

I'd previously made a post about a new Australian band 'Little Sea', the band consists of members Andy, Oliver, Leighton and Dylan. This was  posted straight after the release of their first single, at this point there was no music video. There is now!! I found this video to be a great first video, it initially starts of with a kind of The 1975 vibe and then goes a bit wild(love the hair) but I'll let you see for yourself.

After the great response from my post I decided to let you readers know more about this great band so I got in touch with them and arranged an interview. Here's how it went..

When did the band officially form?
February, 2014 (with the addition of our final member, Dylan)

You've just released 'Thank you' your first single but have you got anymore original songs hidden in the bag?
We have been writing constantly and are about to go into recording... so stay tuned!

What's the origin of your bands name?
Leighton came up with it out of the blue...

Have you changed the band's name before or has it always been Little Sea?
Always been Little Sea :)

How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?
The three of us had known each other for about a year from around the music scene, playing gigs with various bands etc. Andy knew Dylan through school and thought he would be perfect as our bass player!

What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
Pop-rock, although if you ask Dylan he will say 'New Wave' haha.

What's your favourite song of all time?
This is too tough to answer!

What inspired you to make music together?
Seeing our favourite bands live, we couldn't imagine anything more fun!

If you weren't making music what would you be doing?
Probably be working at a duck farm.

Most of your covers were shot in Olly's van, is it really as cool as it seems?
It is very cool!

What advice do you have for people who want to make their own music?
Keep trying, practice makes perfect and learn from your mistakes!

What's the hardest part about being in a band?
Trying to put four peoples lives into one, its quite tricky!

What's the best part of being in a band?
Theres no better feeling then being on stage with your best mates!

Do you think social media has helped your band?
IMMENSELY

You supported 5sos whilst in Sydney, how did you prepare for that?
It was just a lot of hours of constant practise!

Which countries would you most like to tour?
America would be awesome :)

What's your outlook on the record industry today?
Its scary, but I think there is a lot of potential that people seem to be overlooking.

Tell us about your next shows and why people should go.
Our shows are fun and energetic, so everyone should come because the more the merrier!

What can we expect from you guys in the future?
Lots of new music and hopefully some of our own tours!

Although these guys only formed in February this year and their first official music video in may it has already totted up to an impressive 11,000 views! If that doesn't convince you that these guys have something special I don't know what will!!
